Our 2018 Indigenous/Science workshop brought together more than 60 researchers and community partners for a 2.5-day workshop at the Musqueam Cultural Education Resource Centre. We heard Indigenous leaders speak of their frustration over lack of action toward ‘reconciliation’, the need for academics to increase their cultural competency and for the academy to provide education and training opportunities to Indigenous youth. We heard from researchers who are incorporating Indigenous voices and epistemologies into their work and whose decades of experience with research partnerships illustrate the challenges and benefits of collaboration. Through these and other conversations, we are collectively charting a path for our cluster’s future.
