Musqueam Indian Band

My work and research is focused on the de-colonization of heritage research and management. I am particularly interested in how heritage is defined, legislated, and managed in BC. I am also committed to critically examining the discipline of archaeology and the roles played by those of us who practice heritage management and who perpetuating the longstanding and continued history of colonial control of heritage management. I am also interested in the application of queer and feminist theories to heritage management.

Musqueam’s participation in the Research Cluster is in the hope that this work will redefine research partnerships between Indigenous groups and researchers and will provide new and exciting opportunities for both parties to change the way research is done.
